Marsh Harrier - Circus aeruginosus

Pictures - John Foss

The Marsh Harrier feeds on lizards, small birds, voles and insects. They glide silently over reedbeds or low vegetation using a few wing beats as possible. The specimen on this page was photographed over reedbeds near Vilamoura.
