Common Raven - Corvus corax

Pictures by Ray Tipper - More about Ray...

The Common Raven is the largest of the all-black crows of the region approaching size of Common Buzzard. In flight long, wedge-shaped tail distinctive. Invariably solitary or in pairs and family groups. Decidedly uncommon along coast, though regular at Sagres. The inland hills of the barrocal are its preferred habitat, although nowhere is it common.
