The Common Sandpiper is a Summer visitor. It is easily recognised by its bobbing gait as it walks along the edges of shorelines and around the margins of freshwater lakes hunting for the crustaceans and other aquatic creatures which make up its diet. The specimen on this page was photographed at Cabanas De Tavira.
